Siquijor Adventure

Last April 20-23, 2011, I was able to visit Siquijor Island. Amidst its mysterious and magical history, the island is actually far off from what had been known. It is a question for me, why Siquijor is an interesting island and why foreigners actually dig this place.

Siquijor is an island, an hour away from the province of Dumaguete. Getting here is flying directly to Dumaguete, take ferry ride, an hour and half. Below is the map of the island, which can be toured for about 2-3hours estimate.

We started from Enrique Villanueva (E.V.) and went to Larena, Siquijor,  San Juan, Lazi and back to Tulapos. We went resort hopping. :) See my adventures below. :)

The view from the port

Ports' view - this is only the port
This was the answer to my odd question. The port. The ocean. & The view. It was breathe-taking.

Our first resort was, The Kiwi Dive Resort. It's the perfect hideaway for the honeymooners, the lovers, the foreigners who just wants a quiet laid-back life. Kiwi Resort holds diving classes with the breezing view of the ocean.

Next open resort for viewing was The Norwegian Dream Resort. It is indeed a dream place. With cabanas over viewing the sun, the ocean. The soft breeze, sooo relaxing. The owner Ms. Tess Beltran-Groenlhen, a certified chef and pastry chef, was very kind in accommodating our questions.

Our last stop for the trip was lunch at one of the spring parks in San Juan, Siquijor. It was a holiday that time and the perfect day to get together with friends.

  1. Siquijor is such a nice place. If you want to break out from the busy world, go there.
Also, there are spots/areas there where there's no phone signal. If you want to escape from your boss or from your work and have a vacation in its fullest sense, Siquijor is the perfect candidate.
