L'Auberge Dab - One of the Finest in Paris

The last day for the European Cardiology Congress ended, and some of my dad's colleague invited us over for dinner. A good friend of my parents, invited us over to L'Auberge Dab, one of the finest bistro in Paris.

Located across the Palais des Congrès Conference Hall and near Porte Maillot. This elegant 16th arrondissement restaurant graces guests with its leather benches, wooden interior and bay windows dressed with salmon-coloured drapes - a warm, welcoming, intimate restaurant.

We were seated at the outside terrace. The lighted lamps kept the tent heated for the spring-autumn weather. The ambiance was perfect. The receptionist was very considerate with our group, as we only had an estimated number of people. She was very accommodating even though our host was very fickle-minded. They spoke English (hooray!) and they gladly entertained our questions.

Reservations was very strict for this place. By 5 in the afternoon, we were situated and had to settle in or else our reservations would be forfeited. By the looks of the reservation, this place would soon be pretty jump-packed.

Our table :)

We were served with complimentary assorted French bread with assortment of spreads. They were very delightful. I love French breads, even if some of them were hard to chew.

The menu was tourist friendly, they were written in English! For starters, they ordered and tried the Tasting Platter (small). L'Auberge Dab was famous and known for their fresh seafood - oysters, shrimps, snails, etc.

Tasting Platter
They were all so yummy! I even liked the snail. It was weird, but good thing it was fresh.

So, here's what we ordered (I'll try my best to recall the names ^^):

Provencal-style scallops with creamy risotto

I forgot what this was =(

Generous rib steak with wine sauce and potatoes
???

Sorry much for the dishes with no name. Other friends who were with us ordered those, and I simply forgot about it.

The place was pretty full when evening came. The then empty tables, were now bustling with guests. The waiters were literally flying from here and there to take orders from table to table.

With good friends and lots of stories, this is the place to be - good food, good ambiance, good friends. It's an worth of an experience!

Of course, no dinner is exceptionally perfect without tasting the dessert.. ^^ I completely LOVE their Creme Brulee <3

Crème brûlée with brown sugar & Bourbon Vanilla
Molten chocolate cake w/ Guanaja center
Fruit pannacotta ?? ~ not sure
